Stunning 1970s Hanae Mori caftan maxi dress done in a feather light silk chiffon screened with vivid shades of pink in an exaggerated floral design. The gown is cut super model long and is constructed of two layers of almost weightless silk. The dress has a delicate, romantic feeling and is a stunning combination of fabric and color fabric. It has a slit on one leg to break the length of all that silk and each sleeve is left unlined and billows delicately in an almost cape like way. The sleeves each have an immense amount of fabric and are so pretty in person! You can wear this straight and narrow as shown or add a pretty belt to give it more shape. Hanae is the only woman of Japanese descent to have presented on the Paris and New York Runways and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official haute couture house. You can see why in this stunning and romantic example of her work. Excellent condition.
